The Pentax K-1 is a rugged 36.4 MP full frame camera featuring the Prime IV image processing engine designed for the Pentax K-Mount system.

The Pentax K-1 is Ricoh's first entry into the full-frame DSLR market.  This fully weather-sealed (87 special sealing parts) magnesium alloy camera features a high-resolution 36.4 MP filterless full-frame CMOS sensor with the Prime IV 14-bit processing engine which allows a native ISO up to 204,800 and up to 4.5fps in raw format.  The mechanical shutter ranges from 30s to 1/8000s, EV compensation is available to ±5EV.

Employing the renowned Pentax 5-axis Shake Reduction system, the K-1 allows shooting with up to 5-stops of reduced camera-shake, yaw, pitch, and roll as well as vertical and horizontal motion of the camera.  To increase clarity, reduce moiré, and noise, the AA-filterless sensor also has the ability of Pixel Shift Resolution, capturing full color data on each pixel with an effective resolution of 42MP.

The Pentax K-1 has improved the autofocus system over previous models, optimizing it for full-frame with the SAFOX 12 AF system.  33 phase detection focus points (25 cross-type) and three luminance sensors are designed to detect the light flux of F2.8 lenses so the camera excels in difficult lighting situations.  TTL metering is accomplished by the 86k-pixel RGB sensor that allows for multi-segment, center-weighted and spot metering.  The metering is sensitive to a range of EV -3 to 20.

The rear LCD is a unique 3.2" Cross-Tilt monitor with 1,037k dot resolution.  The innovative monitor can flip out diagonally as well as horizontally and vertically allowing you to position the camera virtually anywhere to compose the shot with easier viewing.  The monitor displays focus peaking, face detection, and compositional aides.  The viewfinder is a big beautiful traditional pentaprism with 100% coverage and 0.70x magnification.

Full HD 1080 video is captured at up to 30p or 60i using H.264 compression.  Switching to HD 720p, the camera can record a 60p.  Paired with the impressive line-up of the Pentax K-mount lens system, this camera can meet all of your photographic and video needs.
