Our company's roots and commitment to customer service started with our grandfather, A. William Golling Jr. a World War II veteran, he worked at General Motors and Chrysler Corporation after college until in 1966 he decided to go into the retail side of the car business, opening Golling Volkswagen in Troy, Mi. Our father, Bill Golling started in the car business washing cars and working in every department in the dealership starting when he was 15 years old. Dad then went to Michigan State University and upon graduating college, went into business with our grandfather starting Golling Datsun in Royal Oak, Mi. Over the past 50+ years, Dad continued the commitment our Grandfather started the company with. Over time we have grown our dealerships to include Buick GMC in Lake Orion, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Bloomfield Hills and Chelsea, Alfa Romeo FIAT in Birmingham and Toyota in Warren, Mi.
Dad made sure that the next generation would be brought up in the same fashion of learning from the ground up as he did. We started working in the stores washing cars starting at 15 years old and we learned every position in the dealership as we grew up. We both attended Michigan State University but continued to work in the dealership during summer breaks eventually working full time in the dealerships after college. As we move into the future, we still hold our founding core principle our grandfather started back in 1966 of our commitment to customer service as the main guide of how we always put our customers first with up front transparent pricing and our commitment to fix your vehicle for a fair value with excellent quality.
