Good overall for an economical camera, the newer have better optical zoom.
I already have 2 other Pentax's the M20 & 30. I paid retail for the M20, and bought an M30 for parts. Then I purchased an M40 on Ebay. The M40 I like the best because of the rechargeable battery. Its also thinner, so I can carry in my shirt pocket. Picture quality is the same throughout the 3, however, not much difference. If you leave the 'autopic'on, its hard to make a mistake. I have always bought Pentax, because of the "point & shoot" ease, and the price compared to the others.I already have 2 other Pentax's the M20 & 30. Everything looked nice except the camera did have significant dents in the outer case which was noted in the description to have scratches. That said everything worked well but the camera looked very used.
